Poellmann Bass

Poellmann was established in the history of making double basses since 1888, Germany. They usually use tone wood aged for generations which has been seasoned for over 200 years. The special design for the back is a unique feature.


 

This Poellmann Bass was made in 18th-19th. Adorf Vogtland, the place which the violin was made was founded around 1200. In 1293, it gained the status of a "town" and became prosperious for the musical instrument making. Till today, it has been about 87 years old.

 

 

In 1929,this bass has been returned to the original luthier for repairation.Within about 100 years ,it was played by the professional German band.And in 2007 it has been collected by the CEO Shunbao Chen of Shanghai Wellsound(Tianyin)Violin Making Co.,Ltd.

 

 

And there is a special part is,the structure of the bass-bar is not always seen in the old basses.This,react an important part on the tone.

 

 

After collected the bass,Mr.Chen has been repaired and adjusted it for one year.Then played by the China Central Philharmonic,the Central Broadcasting Philharmonic,and the Hebei province Philharmonic.All of them considered it as the most wonderful one in Chinese professional basses at present.
